OneLife Round – It’s Ok to Talk

The reality is that about 45% of us will struggle with some sort of mental illness throughout our lifetime. That is why we have to look out for each other and be there to talk to each other if someone is feeling down.

If you are feeling down, you need to talk to;

– Your Parents
– Your Coach
– Your Team Mates
– A Counsellor – Lifeline 13 11 14

Most of all, remember that someone at your football club is always there for you.

Blue Armbands

Our Year 8 and Above Teams will be wearing blue armbands at all games on the weekend of 6 – 8th of May in order to raise awareness for this great cause to ensure that we all understand that ‘it’s okay to talk…’ By wearing the blue armbands it has allowed us to have this conversation and hopefully many more in the future.

At the end of the day it’s about looking out for your mates.

Symptoms of Depression

– An unusually sad or irritable mood that does not go away
– Loss of enjoyment and interest in usual activities

– Lack of energy and tiredness
